Vietnam Tour - September 5 to September 29 - 2016

5/9: Departure - We travel with Thai Airways from Copenhagen at. 14:30 TG0951 to Bangkok.

6/9: Fly Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh with arrival about 9.00. We drive to the hotel TTC close to Tan Son Nhat airport. Relaxation to 13.00. We go by taxi to the Old Presidential Palace (now Independence Museum). After visiting the museum taxi to Ben Tan market. Walking in a park close to the market.

7/9: Up early. I have ordered the car leaving at 7:00. Breakfast at a restaurant 500 meters from the hotel. Before departure, all the suitcases into Hennings room. We must train to Da Nang tonight at 22:00. We drive to the Cu Chi tunnels. It was here Vietcong hid under the American war. There are approximately 250 km of tunnels. 8/9: We are in Da Nang around 14.00. Taxi to Hoi An to Hotel Hoi Yen, where we will be accommodated. The hotel has svimming pool. We rent bikes right opposite the hotel. This is also where we can get washed clothes. I have used the site for 15 years. 19.00 o'clock we go to eat at the harbor.

9/9: We have to visit a school for the deaf "Village of Hope" in Da Nang. Luu going. She had a daughter who has gone to school. We see teaching and watching how they should. We talk with the director of the school at 11:00 am and will have lunch at school. We eat with the children. We are back in Hoi An between the hours of 12 and 13. We cycle a tour of the city. 11/9: Tour of the small islands. I hope to get Anh with. We cycle to the harbor and rent a boat, taking our bicycles. It's a little trip. We stop at a boatyard. 14/9: We say goodbye to Hoi An and our hotel. We need to Hue. We start at 07:00. It is a trip of 130 km. We need all our luggage. First stop is Marble Mountain with many stairs. There are many pagodas on the mountain, built by Emperor Minh Mang. We see his mausoleum in the morning. Accommodation at the hotel Riwer View. Lunch at the deaf restaurant. Then we see the Royal Palace. Dinner in the city.

15/9: All suitcases into my room. We should not stay overnight. Breakfast and then we cycle to our boat. Boat trip on the Perfume River "Song Huong". We must have the bikes on the boat. First stop is Thien Mu Pagoda, which is a very exciting and very beautiful pagoda and a peaceful place. 17/9: We are in Lao Cai at. about 06:00 in the morning and the train is no longer running. Khoa has ordered taxi to Sa Pa. There are 37 km up the mountain to the mountain town of Sa Pa in the 1700 meters. Lao Cai is a border town on the border with China. I hope that we can get our rooms when we get between 7 and 8 in the morning. At 9:00, we take our first hike. Many time follow many black Mong after us. The trip is 15km. 18/9: We start at 9:00. We take a car to the "Red Dzau" village about 15 km from Sa Pa. The village is called "Tafind". We enter the "Red Dzau" hut and get tea and perhaps a small local schnapps. I've been in the house the last 10 years. When we leave the hut, we go over paddy fields back to the car. We take lunch at the market in Luyen and Phung Dung. The afternoon is free. Take a tour of the city. Dinner in Sa Pa.

19/9: Last day Sa Pa. We start at 9.00 am after breakfast. We need a village of Cat Cat, also "black Mong". There are many stairs and the landscape is like on Saturday. When we reach a suspension bridge, we find our car, which brings us back to Sa Pa. We are back approximately at 15:00. Dinner in the town of Lao Cai. We must train in the evening back to Hanoi. We are in Hanoi very early the next morning.

20/9: Cycle to the Army Museum and Art Museum. Lunch near our hotel. Dinner in the city.

21/9: Bike to Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum and see his museum. It is a modern, exciting museum. Bike to Literature Museum "Old University" and eat lunch at the restaurant Ko-Ko. Afternoon free. Fest dinner at Little Hanoi.

22/9: We need to Mai Chau 142 km from Hanoi. On the outskirts of Hanoi we visit a silk village. We are devoting one hour there. The trip is now on Hoa Binh, which is the city with the large power plant. It has been dammed up the black river hydro to give to the power plant. We get close to when we drive back to Hanoi. Lunch near Khoas home on the return journey. Before running into the Hoa Binh, we drive to the left to Son La. It is mountain driving. We are not going Son La, but to Mai Chau valley. We cycle between rice fields. Before we leave there will be time to walk around the village of Ban Lac. We enjoy the silence and the beautiful scenery. Dinner time at 20.00.

23/9: We visit a school about 10 km from Ban Lac. I have visited it many times. We see teaching and talking with teachers. There is a rise out of school, we must withdraw the bikes. It is so easy on the way home. We must have lunch and walk around town then. We take another bike ride of about 2 hours. After dinner, the young people from the village dance for us. They are skilled. After white thai dance featuring the girls us to dance. There comes a jar onto the floor with liqueur that we drink of bamboo. We end the evening with host spared: Hoa and Thu.

24/9: We drive from Ban Lac very early at 7.30. We say goodbye to Hoa and Thu. We are now going to Hanoi. On the way back we see the power plant in Hoa Binh, hviket mentioned earlier. Afternoon free. Dinner in the city.

25/9: We make again a tour of Hanoi. We take the West Lake around. It is the largest lake in Hanoi. It will be a nice bike ride. Lunch near our hotel. We have a banquet tonight at Little Hano.

26/9: We're going to Halong Bay. There is 170 km, but there is reasonable good roads. We take a stop in Sao Do to see young people with disabilities make pictures in embroidery. I have here sponsored a girl who is deaf. Maybe we get to see her. We are in Halong Bay between 11 and 12. We need to have a boat that we can stay on. A night on the boat, where there is good service of the staff. We will have lunch and dinner on the boat and the next morning we get breakfast.

27/9: We stand on the island of Cat Ba, where we also have an overnight stay. It is possible to buy pearls. There are as many sellers. We go to the beach and swim on the best beach. Dinner at the harbor.

28/9: We must return to Halong Bay and Hanoi. It is also the departure day. We must go back to Hanoi 17.00. We drive to the airport.

29/9: We fly over Bangkok to Copenhagen. We are in Copenhagen approximately 7:00.
